Beautiful Wedding Venues in Oaxaca city

Hotel Casa Oaxaca

The food here is renowned for its merging of tradition and pared down sophistication (very much like its style and decor), using only local, native and organic ingredients.  This would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner or an intimate wedding. Sitting on the roof terrace of Casa Oaxaca eating flor de calabaza is an unmatchable pleasure. I have never photographed a wedding here but I have photographed the restaurant and hotel for several travel magazines and food guides. It is considered one of the best restaurants in the whole of the country.

Quinta Real Oaxaca

Steeped in history, the open air terraces, stone fountains, stately arches and original frescoes make this restored convent (built in 1576) a beautiful and impressive location for your wedding day. The wedding I photographed here was spectacular, their ceremony was held in Santo Domingo, followed by a callejoneada with mojigangas, mescal and all, back the Quinta Real for the reception.

Hotel Azul de Oaxaca

This boutique hotel in central Oaxaca is located a few hundred metres from Santo Domingo and its botanical gardens. A beautiful contemporary hotel featuring a gallery of Oaxacan artists, this would be perfect for an intimate, contemporary wedding. The wedding I photographed here was of an architect couple from Mexico City and their choice of venue was unsurprising. This is an immaculately restored building symmetrically planted cactuses giving it a impressively contrasting aesthetics.
