I discovered Casa Adela a few years ago when it had recently arrived in the hands of the wonderful and charming Eric. I immediately booked it to took my parents there for a few nights and we all absolutely loved the calm and tranquil atmosphere and the elegant airy spaces of the house; the courtyard for morning coffee, poolside for lizard lounging, the cool passageways for post siesta tea and of course, the rooftop for a sunset aperitif whilst looking over the surrounding desertic landscapes. I’ve still only shot one wedding at Casa Adela (and an editorial shoot) but have a couple of weddings booked there for next month, I can’t wait.

Casa Hyder

I have now photographed five weddings at Casa Hyder in San Miguel and I am beginning to become very familiar with its many hidden corners and bohemian décor. There are countless places on the magnificent colonial-style estate to take beautiful photographs of the bride and groom.

Instituto Allende

Instituto Allende is a classic. The central courtyard is spacious and majestic and the area at the back has the perfect evening view over central San Miguel and La Parroquia.

Casa Schuck

Located in the centre of San Miguel, Casa Schuck provided the location for one of the most fun and relaxed weddings I have had the pleasure to shoot. A beautiful colonial building with an idyllic fresh-water pool and raised courtyards, it is the perfect little spot for a wedding ceremony. The roof terrace is great for evening drinks or a post-ceremony cocktail.

Hotel Matilda

Although I have never photographed a wedding here, I had to include it on this list. Having stayed here, I can attest to the fact that this minimalist hotel enclosed within a more traditional exterior would be the perfect place for a wedding.

Casa Tortugas

I have only shot one wedding at Casa Tortugas and I am looking for any excuse to go back! This impressive house located in the very centre of San Miguel, boasts courtyards reminiscent of French Baroque architecture, shaded seating areas, roof terraces and offers endless possibilities for your wedding day. The wedding I photographed there was held in a small garden, where an archway led to the pool. Visually stunning, this venue also offers space for quiet moments away from the thrill of the party.

Casa de la Cuesta

I have shot a rehearsal dinner here and it was fantastic. I have two memories of this venue in particular; shooting down from the upper balcony, through the papel picado onto the people-filled courtyard below, and their rather creepy, albeit impressive, collection of masks....
